Design and Web Development • May 2025

Overview
In May 2025, NexGen Management approached me with the opportunity to build their website. They wanted a simple, easy-to-use, and modern solution that would effectively showcase their services and expand their client base through a professional online presence.
The Framework
I chose to use Next.js for this project for many reasons, one of which being its DX. I love their intuitive file-based routing system, and the ease of spinning up API routes. I also love that its a React framework, which is practically my best friend at this point.
The Design
Design and frontend development is actually how I got into coding, so my heart always gets excited when I get to work on a new UI/UX experience. I pride myself on fully custom and detailed designs that are unique and fitting for each project. The process of doing it from scratch, carefully crafting each component and animation, is something that I take joy in. For this, I usually always start in Figma and then bring it to life with Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion, which is what I used on this project.
The Importance of Maintainability
Over time as I've taken on more projects, I've learned the importance of creating maintainable, well-documented code. In the beginning, I was more focused on getting the job done, thinking that I had a perfect memory and will always remember why I did something in a certain way, but I quickly learned that I was wrong.
For this reason, I now tend to use a combination of TypeScript and JSDoc for all of my projects. This way, I can write code that is easy to understand, easy to maintain, and easy to extend.
Conclusion
I'm very happy with the way this project turned out. It was a great opportunity to work with NexGen Management and earn their trust. I invite you to visit nexgenonsite.com and see my work in action!
